  2.                WELCOME TO CURTAINS FULL MOTION SCREEN SAVERS
  3.  
  4.  
  5. Please be advised that Curtains is designed to run only on high end 
  6. machines.  System requirements are as follows:
  7.  
  8.     1.  Macintosh Power PC/iMac system 8 or 9
  9.     2.  166 MHz processor or above
  10.     3.  Your system must support 16 bit color
  11.     4.  32 MB RAM  (64 recommended)
  12.     5.  35 MB hard drive space
  13.

  16. *****You must activate the Curtains Screen Saver program immediately after *****
  17. *****you install the program or you will be prompted to do so until you do.      *****

  20. To Activate the Curtains Screen Saver program or to customize your settings:
  21.  
  22.     1.  Turn off any other screen savers you have running.
  23.  
  24.     2.  Go to the Apple Menu (located in the upper left corner of your screen),
  25.          then to Control Panels, then to Curtains, then to Curtains again. 
  26.  
  27. The first thing you must do is agree to the Curtains License Agreement.
  28. If you do not wish to agree to this agreement, select "I Decline" and 
  29. return the Curtains Screen Saver to the place of purchase.  If you have
  30. agreed continue on until you reach the Control Panel where you may
  31. customize your settings.  The Curtains screen saver program does not
  32. use any extensions so you should not run into any extension conflicts.

  35. Screen Saver Features:

  37. Control Panel:

  39. "On/Off"         This sets Curtains as the active screen saver or turns
  40.                       it off.  
  41.  
  42. "Set Timer"    Sets the time of computer inactivity before the screen 
  43.                       saver launches. 
  44. "Movie
  45. Selection"      Allows you to select which screen saver movies are 
  46.                       active.  You may also play the screen savers manually 
  47.                       from this location.
  48.  
  49. "Resolution"   This feature allows you to work in one resolution
  50.                       (832 x 624 e.g.) and view the screen savers in a
  51.                       640 x 480 screen resolution which will fill your 
  52.                       entire screen.  When you go back to work, Curtains
  53.                       will automatically return you to your previous
  54.                       screen resolution.  This feature will not work on
  55.                       systems using two monitors.
  56.  
  57.                ****WARNING****  IF YOU HAVE TO RESTART YOUR COMPUTER
  58.                EACH TIME YOU CHANGE THE RESOLUTION, DO NOT USE THIS
  59.                FEATURE!
  60.  
  61. "Password"     Allows you to protect your data from prying eyes if you
  62.                       happen to be gone from your computer.  You must type in
  63.                       your personal password before the screen saver will go
  64.                       away. 
  65.  
  66.                ****WARNING****  If you forget your password, the only 
  67.                way to get back into your computer is to shut it off and
  68.                enter in a new password when it comes back on.  You will
  69.                lose all unsaved information and it's not good for your
  70.                computer so REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORD!

  72. "Interval"     This feature allows you to change the frequency in which
  73.                     the screen savers in your "active" window (located in
  74.                     movie selection) are shown.  You have the following five
  75.                     choices:
  76.  
  77.                          1.  Change screen saver movie each time    
  78.                          2.  Change screen saver movie each day
  79.                          3.  Change screen saver movie each week
  80.                          4.  Change screen saver movie each month
  81.                          5.  The "Link" feature will link all of the 
  82.                               Screen Savers together and play them
  83.                               sequencially.
  84.                                                 
  85. "Sound"         Here you can set the volume for your screen savers or
  86.                      you can mute them.  There is a feature under "Options"
  87.                      which will mute the sound if you leave the cursor in the
  88.                      lower right corner of your screen.
  89.  
  90.                                        If the screen saver is running and you want to mute the 
  91.                      sound, simply press the "M" key.  To turn the sound back on,
  92.                      press the "M" key again.

  94. "To Our
  95. Website"       This allows you direct access to our Website.  If your 
  96.                      browser does not automatically launch your modem and 
  97.                      connect you to the internet or if you use AOL, you must be
  98.                      signed on to the internet before using this feature.  If
  99.                      all else fails, our address is:

  103. To Uninstall
  104. Curtains:      
  105.                 
  106.                  1.  Turn the Curtains Screen Saver program off.
  107.                  2.  Open your primary Hard Drive and find the "Curtains" folder.
  108.                  3.  Drag the "Curtains" folder to the "Trash"
  109.                  4.  Open the "Systems Folder" located on your primary Hard Drive.
  110.                  5.  Open the "Control Panels" folder and find the "Curtains" folder.
  111.                  6.  Drag the "Curtains" folder to the "Trash".
  112.                  7.  Go back to the "Systems Folder" and open the "Startup Items" folder.
  113.                  8.  Find the "Curtains Launcher" icon and drag it to the "Trash"
  114.                  9.  RESTART YOUR COMPUTER THEN EMPTY YOUR TRASH.
  115.  
  116. If you have problems with the sound, pictures, or performance, it is 
  117. because your computer's processor is too slow or you do not have 
  118. enough RAM.  On certain older computers which conform to our system
  119. requirements, it is possible that you can run into performance
  120. problems.  This is because of the way the computer's internal 
  121. architecture was designed.  If your computer meets all of the system
  122. requirements listed above and you still run into performance problems,
  123. please contact us at the address listed below.

  127. Collection", or you may order them individually by downloading them 
  128. directly from our website.
